About the Genre
Symphonic Black Metal is a subgenre of Black Metal that incorporates elements of classical music, such as orchestral arrangements and choirs, into the traditional harsh and aggressive sound of Black Metal. The genre emerged in the mid-1990s and has since gained a dedicated following among fans of extreme metal.
Symphonic Black Metal bands often employ a grandiose and theatrical approach to their music, with epic compositions and elaborate stage shows. Despite the use of classical elements, the music remains dark and heavy, with lyrics often focusing on themes of darkness, occultism, and anti-religion.
