In this series, we have a look at some bands that necessarily does not get as much attention as they deserve. It will be based on particular countries, sub-genres or scenes, this is our dig into the snow-covered hills of Austria.
Influenced by the Norwegian second wave, bands like Abigor and Summoning pioneered the Austrian scene. Known for incorporating atmospheric and introspective elements, other notable bands include Bethlehem, Dornenreich, and Belphegor. Austrian black metal often explores themes of folklore, nature, and mysticism. Let's dig a bit deeper in the search for some uncovered gems;
