Review: HÄXÄR - Teufelskvlt
Roberto finds himself deep within a cave, sorrounded by some mysterious hooded maniacs. When they start blasting their drums and riffing hard on their guitars Roberto quickly pulls out his notepad and scrambles to write this review.

Introduction
HÄXÄR isn't a band that was even on my radar, but through the discord server of Black Metal Promotion I get to know them. This latest release Teufelskvlt (Devils Cult) is thus my first introduction to the band.
Teufelskvlt
I stumbled on Teufelskvlt while hanging out on the Black Metal Promotion Discord—just talking & sharing music (on Spotify, Bandcamp, YouTube etc.) Someone shared a last.fm now playing session of this band and the hooded figures that looked like a warped Christmas pageant version of the KKK, drew my attention in. Ridiculous, yes. But the kind of ridiculous that makes you pause, think and look up a band. At least it did for me. I was sent a promo and I hit play and was greated by an aural hellfire.
Tracklist:
- Dämonenblut
- Teufelskvlt
- Askahex
- Ein Schatten so kalt
- Bastardis
- Götterdämmerung
- Prozession der Wölfe
The opening track sealed the deal for me, the German voice‑over, sounding like a demon giving a sermon, then full‑tilt drums and vocals dripping with pure hatred. It set the tone: abrasive without being sloppy. It sounds raw but damn clear. Everything is audible, no vocals buried under the mix, no instruments drowned in mud.
What impressed me is the album keeps that momentum from start to finish.
No standout tracks on this album and I’m fine with that. Instead, it’s a consistent assault: some tracks start slower, but they all end on that same energy level. That monotone can be a killer, but in this case it works. When an album just clicks, it will stay in my rotation for a while and this is an album that definitely clicked for me.
It’s probably not my pick for year’s best. But it’s that doesn’t mean it’s bad! It’s good. Solid. And as said it will stay in my rotation, not because it breaks new ground, but because it does what it sets out to do. Raw, but properly produced, hateful black metal with a hook you can’t quite describe, but that’s okay. Just try it for yourself.
Conclusion
So, a good album, whom would I recommend this too? This would be for all that like proper black metal that is raw around the edges, but still a good production. Just give it a spin and let us know what you think about the album on our socials or you could join the BMP discord.
BMZ rating: 7,5 out of 10
