Introduction
Naglet til Livet is the debut full-length from the Black Metal Masters Jordsjuk. After their debut EP, Råtner på rot, I was more than passionately awaiting new material from these hardworking guys. Jordsjuk consists of Renton on drums and bass (formerly of Urgehal, Nattverd and Djevel and active in Trollfest), Sagstad (ex Nordjevel and active in Trollfest), and the mighty Mannevond from Koldbrann, Craft, Urgehal, and many, many more.
Naglet til Livet
Jordsjuk presents Black Metal in the best way possible on this album.
Kollabs, the first track, shows their proficiency in the first seconds, 200+ bpm flawlessly, with relentless execution. Which somewhat reminds me of a mix of Marduk, Urgehal and for the verse part, Deicide / Morbid Angel. I cannot say if that was the intention, but to be honest, I haven't heard such a strong opening in a long time.
For Grovt Skadeverk, the thrash metal influences speak louder than the black metal ones, which definitely is not bad in any way. Fast, relentless, and uncompromising. Somehow it reminds me of the movie "Unstoppable" with the uncontrolled freight train speeding through villages.

Naglet til livet
Klarhet ob dybde is one song that really stands out to me for the overall instrumentation in the song. It's really fast and even technical, but what really sets it apart for me is the interlude where you can hear the bass really well (also on Til ettertids plage), and the chaotic slide finish is really something in itself.
Conclusion
I would rather not take too much away from your listening experience by going too much into the details of each song, but let me tell you, none of them are bad. It's like a constant increase throughout the album. I'm so happy that I can see them live at Heimfall Metalkraft in Sauda. If they are coming near you, be sure to check them out.
BMZ Rating: 10 out of 10
