Lamp of Murmuur's sole member, M. brings forth a 53 minute 9 track opus about fallen gods and angels in an incredible style, much different from the raw black metal he introduced to us on the first two albums, and as well on other material he has released thus far. I would dare say Saturnian Bloodstorm was a tad different than the previous two releases before, offering an atmospheric album worship akin to the band Immortal that sounded like Blizzard Beasts and At the Heart of Winter. So let us finally talk about The Dreaming Prince in Ecstasy.

The first half of the album is atmospheric symphonic black metal mixed with melodic guitar riffs and charged bomb blastbeats to both draw the listener in and make their ears burn in ecstasy. Songs like The Fires of Seduction , Forest of Hallucinations , Hategate (The Dream-Master's Realm) , and Reincarnation of a Witch exemplify the true beauty of the symphonic blends and also some clean vocal work by M. to give each song a unique feeling.

We shift to a 2-minute interlude with Angelic Vortex, which segues into the 3 part title track songs. They tell a story of fallen ancient ruins and stars to enter a newborn God to begin life anew. It is backed by strong blast beats coupled with dreamy guitar riffs and atmosphere, giving each song its character. Lastly, ending with a beautiful acoustic guitar, synth, and clean vocals, A Brute Angel's Sorrow. Each of these songs are crafted with precise production and beauty, that the listener will enjoy this album in its entirety.

Conclusion:

Lamp of Murmuur totally embodies a stylistic change into more modern black metal. With each release M. has put out, he has continued to outdo himself musically and professionally, taking risks and crafting them into beautiful dreamscapes for his fans to enjoy. I am always excited to hear what Lamp of Murmuur is going to do next!
