Black Metal Production Challenge
Concept & purpose:
This is an opportunity for artists in this server to take their raw ideas and turn them into a professionally produced song, for free. MerijnAap is looking for three artists to collaborate with on their track, providing them with:
✅ Songwriting & composition feedback
✅ Production & recording guidance
✅ A full mix & master of their song
All he asks in return is that the winners commit to the process and leave a killer review, if they think it deserves one.
This is not just a contest, this is your chance to get a track fully produced and release-ready, with no cost and no risk.
How to enter:
1️⃣ – Write & record a demo (At least 1 minute long).
2️⃣ – The demo must have at least 2 distinct sections (they can repeat, but it needs some variation).
3️⃣ – You must be able to record at home using a DAW.
4️⃣ – Vocals are optional but not required
5️⃣ – Submit your demo by april 1st (for real though)
Once the deadline passes, we’ll vote in the server to choose the top 3 demos, and MerijnAap will work with those artists to fully flesh out their song.
Rules & requirements:
🎵 Genre: Any style of metal
⏳ Length: 1 minute or more
🖥️ Recording: Must be recorded in a DAW (no phone recordings, please)
🛠️ Structure: Must have at least two distinct sections (intro/verse, verse/chorus, riff A/riff B, etc.)
Additional guidelines:
Performance quality doesn’t need to be perfect, but the playing should be clear. It’s a demo we’re not trying to win a grammy here.
Use programmed drums if you’re a guitarist.
Collabs are allowed!
Your track will not be released unless you choose to release it. This is all about helping each other grow.
