Introduction

Blodørn is a Black Metal Band hailing from deep within the fjords of Norway. I decided to wait a bit with the review since I had the opportunity to see them live in their hometown and wanted to get a true feeling for their music and new record, so here are my thoughts.

Det Finnes Ingen Trone

Tracklist:

  1. Det Finnes Ingen Trone
  2. Knokkelklang
  3. Blodslit For Lit
  4. Kast Din Krone
  5. Svarte Djuv, Kast Dem Ned
  6. Grav Din Egen Grav
  7. Vandrar av Rang

Det Finnes Ingen Krone is exactly what you would expect from a band hailing from the deep fjords of Norway: dark, melodic and brutal at the same time. The guitar work is crazy and definetly a bit Windir inspired but with a harder, harsher approach to it, leaving nothing to be desired. The vocals are relentless and feels like a bloodthirsty angry and wounded viking is yelling at you from his deathbed. The production is bleak and intentionally DIY, not the modern Nuclear Blast polish, which adds another layer of quality too it. It takes a lot for an underground band like Blodørn to write and record a masterpiece like this. Now on to the experience of experiencing them live at Heimfall Metallkraft in their hometown.

Where should I start, the show was really amazing and I'm very happy to have waited with the writing of this review because as expected for musicians of their quality, it really added another layer of context on their music which made this experience even better and solidified my opinion on the guys of being really hard working and solid musicians who managed to put out a fantastic album.

Conclusion

Blodørn delivered one hell of a performance with this album and definetly kept me hooked for more. Do yourself a favor and listen to this masterpiece.
