So as a fan of weird European black metal (in particular Polish outfits like Furia and Veles). I am straight up f*cking stoked on this debut.
Talking about the instrumentation or the vibe is a moot point with this album, it doesn’t sound like anything else. There's weird rocky elements and mathy avant-garde elements and just so much I couldn’t even try to explain if tried.
The personality and vibe on this record is so unique and honestly the amount of just amazing interesting riffs and segues on this record is wild. What really sets this record apart from others like it is how coherent it all still feels.
Some records have a vibe to them where you can tell the makers truly don't give a f*ck about anything other than communicating their alien visions to the world. The ideas are so crystallized and so fearless that you genuinely do not know what to make of it at first. Think of the first time someone heard Ved Buens Ende or FAS by Deathspell Omega.
It's the sort of album that you revisit over and over and slowly piece together what's going on by virtue of deciphering this bizarre transmission. The next thing you know, you’re in a forum with other weirdos 5 to 10 years later talking about how sick that album is with a bunch of people who went on the same deep dive as you with that record.
You’re now basically your own little weird alien community because you all understand this secret language hidden in the record and are all on the same wavelength. This is 100 percent one of those bands,
Shoutout to Pest Productions for having the courage to release a new band like this because the result is seriously unreal.
Conclusion
This record was an absolute blast to get through. The fact it's a debut and is so well-defined already is just nuts. This project blows most other “weird black metal” out of the water. Listen to it asap.
